2017 The Ethics of the Medical Costs of Opioid Addiction

"While heart valve surgery is typically successful with high survival rates, that is not so for consumers who continue to use IV drugs. The five-year survival rate for those consumers is only 7.0%."

The article also states:

"The Knoxville Academy of Medicine’s Endocarditis Project task force has recommended requiring a three-month commitment to inpatient rehabilitation in order to get surgery."

The cost of an education is also expensive - might there be two categories of learners? One might be "recreational" - they wish to enjoy the course and may or may not change behavior. The other is "'intentional" - they desire to change/improve behavior.

If you knew which category a learner chose - would it impact what you provided to them?
