Open Minded Learning

As part of the relationship established with the people at Quality Assist I was introduced to a daily newsletter from Open Minds. It is health related and I read it with a mindset that it could be just as well being written to describe what is needed to address challenges related to learning. This group will contain discussions related to this newsletter - organized by day not topic - to emphasize the need to establish a routine of learning with an "Open Mind" as perhaps more important than what we learn.

What problem continues to be difficult to solve?

When was the last time you tried to solve it by doing something that had never been done before?

    Why do nonprofits exist?

What do you prefer when it comes to solving a problem:

    • Solve it yourself
    • Solve it for free, via a nonprofit
    • Solve it for a fee, via a for profit

What if you could solve it for free with a for profit and solve it for fee from a nonprofit?

What factors impact the cost of education?

    Cost of creating the course?

    Cost of delivering the course?

Effort required to learn and apply the information effectively?

    What else?

What innovations might impact each of these in a manner that lowers cost and improves outcomes?
