2017 More Fuel for Integrated Care

So - the medical industry is just discovering the correlation between behavioral health and medical issues? And in some cases behavioral issues are masking medical issues?

Do we learn better when we are feeling better?

Can successful learning help us feel better?

What if we could prove a correlation between an increase in successful learning outcomes (because the delivery was adapted to the preferred learning style) and reduced healthcare costs?

Is this worth considering?

2015 Pennsylvania Medicaid To Issue RFP For Managed Long-Term Services &...

While the decision to build, buy or partner is always important (and challenging) it may be important to consider:

  1. If we do it all ourselves - are we sure that we have effective checks and balances?
  2. If we outsource it all - are we sure we will get what we need?
  3. Are we effective in managing a blend - objectively?
  4. Does our business model allow for a blend?

2016 More Community-Based Care + Consumer Empowerment = Self-Directed Care

How could we implement "Self-directed learning" in the workplace? Would independent coaches (i.e. not the immediate manager) be effective? Would the coach need to be accountable for outcomes?

2018 Setting Up Your Telehealth Program For Consumer Experience

Have we been debating elearning ('telehealth") vs. traditional learning long enough? Perhaps we can learn from what "telehealth" is forging:

  1. Educate consumers and set expectations
  2. Design a comfortable environment
  3. develop a “webside” manner
  • The classroom has built in accountability for the learner from peers and the leader. It is "accepted" that the learner will pay attention and one does so (usually) out of respect for the leader, their peers and self. Do we still struggle to have the same or better level of acceptance for paying attention with online learning?
  • If technology or distractions or peer pressure make it inconvenient to be online to learn - and if workload is not adjusted - then what is the learner to do? The solution may be "GPS-like" - technology that allows for learning and working to be done simultaneously - this is the "promise" of AR/VR/ML/RPA and IoT.
  • How can we improve the "webside" manner of elearning?

2019 Do We Really Want Feedback? Or To Give Feedback?

When is the best time to give and get feedback on something that is a long term investment?

How can you be assured that this is effective?

2020 CMS Proposes Regulatory Changes To Promote Medicaid Value-Based Drug Purchasing

How do we measure the benefit of something not happening? Is it possible or desirable to prove that one was responsible for something not happening?

For example - what is the benefit of not having a headache? If I offered something that I told you would prevent you from having a headache and you only had to pay me if it worked - would you do so?

2021 Three Strategies To “Preferred”

How can you assure that the services you provide is what your client prefers?

Will the client know? When will they know? What if their preference changes?

What determines whether something is a crime? What determines whether punishment  or rehabilitation is needed?

What determines whether workplace performance is acceptable? How do we assure that training is not viewed as punishment?
