2015 The Top Assistive Technologies of 2014

As we develop new methods of teaching those that need to learn something for the first time could we also adapt the learning and make it available to those that perhaps have forgotten it? I wonder about high school students who are learning about U.S, History and how their parents (or grandparents) might benefit from a refresher course.

A few years ago I worked with a medical professional who was developing a course to teach executives from other countries who were relocating to the U.S. about the U.S. healthcare system. I remarked that I believed that these people would be more aware than the average U.S. Citizen.

As a market expands - the cost per unit decreases - which can serve to expand the market.

It seems like there are so many areas in need of funding and that almost every area is under-funded. I wonder how much time, effort and money is spent trying to determine how to get something funded?

Would it be possible to solve something in a manner that either eliminates the need (so funding is no longer needed) or that creates a by-product that produces funding. This multi-sided market mentality created the dotcom boom turned bust but reborn in a social media boom.

With healthcare and learning this self-funding approach would open our minds to innovation with our hearts and minds.

Years ago I experienced Aspira offering free training to children of Latino background sponsored by Bank of America because Aspira and Bank of America acknowledged that the parents of these children did not trust banks in the countries they came from and that lack of trust was being exhibited by the parents in America. They hoped to reach the parents by teaching the children. The Global Village School in Atlanta is having a similar impact to families.

What would it take to create an education initiative regarding lifestyle choices by young children that could generate funds to support its expansion, impact and reduction in healthcare costs? What other costs might be reduced or offset?
