2015 If You've Seen One, Have You Seen Them All?

Years ago I remember reading the perspective of an executive at Dupont regarding technology. In brief - there were three choices:

1. Go with defacto standards (which means waiting until something has emerged as the standard)

2. Go with a particular vendor that you believe is the leader (this usually meant IBM)

3. Define your own standards and expect the industry to meet your expectations (this could work for a "Dupont")

I think today there is a new choice:

4. Get in the game, experience immediate benefit and be willing to reinvest quickly
