2014 What’s A Strategy, Anyway?

Which of these are important to our role?

  1. Being able to articulate our company's strategy
  2. Assuring that others in our company can articulate the company's strategy
  3. Assuring that "articulation" is evidenced in the strategy of our department

2018 Revisiting The Non-Profit Board/CEO Relationship

Our panel’s advice to current non-profit CEOs and board members?

  1. "CEOs must be actively involved in board development to build the trust, honesty, and transparency needed for success.
  2. Education is key to the board understanding what it means to be in this market, with this competition, with this funding, and with this technology—no matter what those specifically are.
  3. If board members understand their role, then they know they have a large fiduciary responsibility—and that means they are making decisions that may scare them. Support from the CEO is essential to helping the board understand those decisions."

The creation of advisory councils (e.g. boards) is a best practice. Do we also apply the above three concepts to the advisory board?
