2014 EHR ‘Square One’
"..a just-completed survey of managers at more than 450+ behavioral health provider organizations found that while 13% are satisfied with their EHR vendor, 41% are looking for a replacement."
Snapshots are interesting - trends might be more useful - but 41% seem high. I would hope that nearly 100% would be open to improvement and that most would be interested in adding to the functionality of their EHR versus replacing it.

2015 The VA’s Troubles: A Mirror Of Our National (& State) Health Ca...
"...the VA is plagued with a few critical problems – lack of data, lack of health information technology integration, and piecemeal approaches to solving problems."
These problems do not sound unique to the VA, healthcare or any entity in particular. I (perhaps choose to) believe that we have:
These realities require a different mindset towards solving a problem.

"Interestingly, many consumers don’t think there are substantial differences among providers"
Here are two myopic views towards marketing and your business strategy:
1. Appeal to those who you do not know - nor do they know you
2. Appeal to those who you do know - and those who know you
What are the pros and cons of each view?
2017 Disruption (& Strategic Planning) Come To The I/DD Space
"...a fundamental change in financing and in sustainability for provider organizations serving the I/DD population and is driving the many discussions about new service line development, technology infrastructure, marketing, and mergers.....these unique challenges mean that the strategic planning process will involve a lot bigger changes and a lot of tough decisions."
2018 Solve The Problem, Gain A Partner
"How do health plans, when looking at a steady stream of service model ideas, evaluate the many opportunities? How do they decide which model looks like a winner, and which one goes in the “thanks for coming” pile?"
"It begins by determining whether the program identifies a problem where we need a solution. What we are really looking for are provider organizations that have the capabilities to address those priority needs. But I’m not necessarily looking for a ready-made product that we can “plug and play.” I’m looking for a collaborator—an organization that has the right talent and infrastructure to partner with to build a model that works for everyone."

Are the "partnerships" we create with external providers important enough to assure that they are working well?
