Your Revenue Driver

Ironically - we need Responsive Web Design - because our web designers were not able to predict the future (who can for that matter?)

And yet - we want our web designers to understand technology and where the future might be taking us in terms of website design.

We know that IOT is here and will becoming commonplace/accepted soon. We can also look forward to 3D printing, autonomous vehicles, holographic 3D projections and screens everywhere - smaller, thinner and wearable!

Technology changes faster than I can get my expected ROI from my web design/maintenance Will Responsive prepare me for these known technology "futures" - what about the ones I don't know about. What are the 10 things (or so) I need to do in order to reduce my future costs, adapt more quickly and produce value for my clients?

Again as I search for disruption - I was teased by the opening line of the second paragraph of this chapter - "Responsive design allows your web content (navigation, images, text, forms, etc) to dynamically respond to the PLATFORM or DEVICE THAT is REQUESTING THAT INFORMATION"  (the bolding, red color and capitalization are not in the chapter - I provided them here to make my point.)

It took me longer than usual to understand the use of "Responsive Design" when I first heard it. When I viewed the first responsive sites they looked no more responsive than previous sites. Silly me - I thought we were trying to be "responsive" to the human being who happened to have a device with them but then I learned as this chapter so accurately describes that we are responding to the device.

The disruption remains elusive - and yet it is begging in plain sight willing to spend lavishly, regularly and with efficiency!
