Chapter 4 - Landing Page Optimization: It's About Psychology not Technology - By Chuck Bankoff

OK - by now I've figured it out - all the chapters are well written. This one helps you understand everything you need to know about landing pages - and there is a lot to know!

It also gave me two insights into the disruption I am "reading" for:

Both were revealed to me by the opening paragraph of the chapter. I've quoted much of it here and encourage you to read it in the book for yourself:

"Advertising is the art of getting people to buy things they don't need with money they don't have." The author goes on to say - "This statement predates the Internet by a number of decades, yet still rings true today. While it might be a bit cynical.....If you have what people are looking for, it's your job to help them find it."

Disruption 1: I think that as consumers we are wary of advertising for the exact cynical reason described by the author. Princess Social knows that her role is to enable relationship/trust to defeat the cynicism (from both directions.) So - the disruption is to use Digital Advertising to help people use the resources they have to get what they need - this is more closely aligned with being in relationship with someone than the cynical role of advertising.
