I believe that most online marketers are emulating what marketers were trying to do pre-internet. Here is a link to a discussion group that suggests some ideas for marketing in a different manner.

2015 Preparing For The Amazon Effect

The prospect of Amazon entering the healthcare market scares the author. Ironically the author then describes how focused Amazon has been on creating a great customer experience and continuing to innovate. The author suggests that Amazon will bring the following to the healthcare industry:

Speed & Convenience

“Different” Wait Times

Mass Customization

Complete transparency

Each of these are described in positive terms from a customer (patient experience.) So why is the author scared? The fear is a result of disruption to the industry - how will the current medical system be able to compete with Amazon?

If the medical system is scared by Amazon what do you think would happen if Amazon set its sights on the training industry?

What costs will be displaced? What new services or revenues will be generated?

How effectively are current technology investments performing?

What will assure optimum results from future technology investments?

We can only work with the data we have? What is missing from the data we need? How would we even know something is missing if we never had it?

What new questions are you willing to ask about old problems?

What new answers are you willing to consider to old questions?

What new problems might be about to emerge?

What can we do to minimize concerns related to "missing numbers?"
