2014 What To Do When Strategy Fails
A challenge I have seen is that a strategy might assume it is needed forever. The risk is not seeing that the problem the strategy was focused on has either been solved or misunderstood. How do we challenge ourselves before the market reality does the challenging for us? Do we have a role in helping the other business functions in our enterprise challenge themselves? Perhaps yes if we consider ourselves to be responsible for leadership development. Definitely yes if we consider ourselves responsible for performance assurance.

The more I learn about healthcare - the more I am fascinated by these aspects:
- There is so much commitment to understand and treat the individual as an individual
- There is conviction to separate the treatment from the ability of the individual to afford the treatment
- There is increased awareness of the total individual (decisions, environment, DNA) and their impact to the success f the treatment
Which of these three aspects impact the ability to learn and perform well in our careers?

Most enterprises offer some form of benefits to their employees - sometimes in a "cafeteria" format - especially for benefits that extend outside of work related matters such as pet insurance, auto insurance, legal assistance. Is there room for professional development benefit - independent of the source? In addition to tuition reimbursement - would there be potential to offer benefits from the training source of the employee's choice?
