2016 The Politics of Addiction
The money this problem needs is so large that politics is trying to manage the situation - by manufacturing "band-aids." The amount of money going to people to treat those addicted will now cause those organizations to seek more money and to educate us on the extent of the problem. Where is money going to prevent the problem. I fear it is too late for that. Decades of political correctness and greed have resulted in a "wicked problem."
How do people get hooked in the first place?
If I shift to education - I wonder why there are an abundance of workers from China and India that we are "importing" to perform technology jobs because we have not been able to generate enough educated workers in America. How did these workers from poor countries gain the needed skills?
We appear to be "breaking down" from a health perspective - are we also "breaking down" from an education perspective?
What solution might there be that is not political?
