At a macro level - we need a consultant (one who can specify beyond their capabilities) and at the micro level we need a contractor (one who excels at the specific task.)

Healthcare is using accountability as the driver of innovation around the Macro/Micro challenge. What will drive L&D to innovate?

2015 What Are Executives Reading? Top Briefings In 2015

I wonder about the inefficiencies of many aspects of our educational system. These include:

Books and courses purchased and not consumed, understood or applied
Invitations/advertisements to purchase education that go unread or that do not appeal to the recipient
Design effort to build and deliver capabilities that do not yield tangible results

Please imagine a system where there were educational efficiencies?

What would be the impact to our lives?

Would we trust it?

Could we really deliver it?

Would you want us to do this? Why? Why not? (How do we deal with "guild-resistance" - a term I just learned from a Monica Oss video from 2012)

It is challenging to find a fair way to pay for services when the payment occurs during one interval from one group of people and then benefits accrue to another group of people in a different interval. Do our accounting and business models need adaptation? Are we able to link activities to outcomes better today than 10, 20 or 75 years ago? What about 10, 20 or 75 years from now?

I (want to) believe that this is different from a "help desk." Would it be possible for L&D to offer a "concierge service?"

Would there be a stigma associated with using this? What if it were required? What if it were two-way? By that I mean everyone had the opportunity to be a mentor as well as a mentee.
