How might a "story" deal with conflicting "what if's?" Unknown unknowns...

Volatility may result from a wide variety of exceptions to the current rules (not about eliminating past mistakes but about opening up more options for the future.)  ("relevant info we do not know")

A computer verifies via data - our brain seeks falsification from the unexpected.

(sports, stock market, politics - an overwhelming amount of conflicting information and abundant uncertainty.)
