2016 Child Welfare Services – How Much Are We Spending?
If the point of this article was to dishearten related to child welfare services - it succeeded by describing reduced funding, forfeited funding (due to failure to report accurately) and closure of nonprofit services. The article did not describe whether or not the need for Child Welfare Services was increasing or not. Are there any entities seeking support from anyone else whose needs are not increasing? Is the increase a fact of life? or a fact of politics.
From a training industry experience I wonder about onboarding, M&A employee assimilation and "right sizing." These are perhaps analogous to Child Welfare in that we have groups of people that need help for what may be a temporary yet critical time in the formation of their careers.
How do you know when you are spending too much or perhaps not enough in each of these three areas? What is the measure of effectiveness of the investments?

Do you remember the game of telephone we played as children?
What did you learn from that?
Do you remember the term co-morbidity? I learned this during COVID-19?
What did you learn from that?
Who did we blame for the errors in "telephone?" The first person, the most recent, or all?
Who did we blame for the deaths in COVID? The first co-morbidity, the worst, or COVID?
Who is to blame for the current turmoil in healthcare? The first bad decision, all the decisions, the most recent decision?
Why!
