The risk for the Knowledge Worker is that no one understands their work as much as they do and therefore no one may be able to accurately determine how well the Knowledge Worker is performing.

The Knowledge Worker understands this and also must understand the need for accountability.

The training organization can (must) lead the way for the corporation because it must be the expert on the way that people learn. It can be the source of accountability for those that it is trying to help. It however, also needs accountability.

Drucker offers these guiding questions for the knowledge worker:

What am I going to focus on?

What results can be expected?
When?

Who will hold me accountable?

These questions are valid for the training organization as well.
