The goal of this strategy is to attain leadership (perhaps dominance.) This strategy has high reward and of course high risk. If you are the first to do it - then there is not likely to be a roadmap to guide you. You will likely become the target for competitors to emulate or to challenge.

 

For internal training organizations there are these questions:

 

1. Where does your company seek to be the first with the most (i.e. a leader or dominant?)

2. How does the training you offer internally compare to what your company's external competitors offer internally?

3. What are you doing to assure that training is a competivie advantage for your company?

 

For external training organizations there are these questions:

 

1. Are you a leader in your area of training services?

2. How important is it to your clients that you are seen as a leader?

3. Is it important to you to maintain a perception of leadership?
