We are at risk of creating poor morale if leaders get positive recognition in a manner that is disproportionate to the recognition gained by individuals or if in fact there is a direct conflict between the recognition and job performance.
Sales people may object to "training" by stating - "I'm not paid to go to training - I'm paid to sell."
What would happen if individual learners were given a choice between:
1. Attending training
2. Not attending training and receiving a one-time bonus equal to what the training cost
3. Being given a check equal to the cost of training and being allowed to make a decision to purchase the training, keep the money or apply the money to their chosen method of learning?
