The important factor here is to be large enough to be profitable while not large enough to attract competitors.

 

The focus here is on the market vs.the product. The opportunity for training organizations is to become a profit center by building a set of products that help their company's customers become more effective on using the company's products. The market is likely to be too small to attract competitors and the organizations brand identity can be the differentiator.

 

Years ago I beame aware of a company that focused on teaching travel agents how to sell cruises. The courses were taught on cruises (I wish I had thought of that one!)
