Mac, good question about the research. The challenges that I have seen to the original are more about the conclusions being drawn or being implied than the "data." The original was prepared for the Colorado Board of Education to make a point about a need for a different method of training.

I especially liked the reference to online learning. I completed both my degrees online because I needed that asynchronous component - my schedule is too busy to get me into a classroom on a regular basis anymore. Those who succeeded in that online environment were definitely self-motivated people pursuing a goal. I'm very proud of my achievements in those degree programs - high GPAs, honors awards at the bachelor's level, and a solid scholarly thesis on leadership at the township government level. Yes, we have to keep on learning new things and new ways if we are going to survive in this new century. Thanks for posting this video.
